Alexandria Urban Sketching

The main aim of this workshop is to gain an understanding of urban sketching to explore and document the architectural heritage of Alexandria – “experiencing the past for present & future” by:
Improving freehand sketching abilities.

Becoming more aware of how the sketchbook format can be used in composing an image.

Improving observation ability basically focusing on heritage sites.

Acquiring new techniques and approaches to urban sketching.To evaluate which Materials, techniques of freehand sketching will be more useful and effective to document a heritage building and experiencing urban views.

Learning to record heritage building’s remarkable vocabularies; roof top, window, door, and details to formulate a good foundation for design renovation and urban regeneration ideas.

The workshop will consist of lectures, exercises and sketch outing. Focus will be on describing city spaces, buildings and surroundings through sketching.
